Will isotonic drinks cause sugar dependence?

when I work out and sometimes I get a bit hungry halfway so I take isotonic drinks (also helps to quench thirst).

Does it cause sugar dependence? Because it's been proven that if you take sugar while hungry you'll get sugar dependence.

How about sports gels? They contains plenty of complex carbs. Are they necessary? I think they are quite costly and difficult to get.

Never heard of sugar dependance, though i think you need a lot of ssugar, because i know kids eat sugar all the time when they're hungry, but they don't become "dependant".

i have never heard this. what do you mean by becoming dependent on it?

my HKD master use to worry that i did not eat enough before class so he told me that worst case senario at least have some sugar before class, but a good meal was better.

Really basic nutrition would say that complex carbs are not really what you body would need during a workout because it takes longer for your body to turn them into energy.
