Bench Press with out bench.

I do not have access to a bench at home, so I do my bench press on the floor (press) and I found it is very "danger" or unsafe; cause it could easily injure my back and shoulders; when I could not handle the weight and the weight just slams down at my shoulders. So are there any solutions to this? If not, are there any "classic" exercises that works out the chest really good?

Thank you *times* how many contributed.

How about push ups? There are many variations of push ups you can do to stress your pectoral muscle.
