Health & FitnessDiscuss health and fitness related to martial arts here
I think martial artists should be fitter than most. But however that doesn't always work out, I work myself to the bone, going home every night feeling like someone ripped my body to shreds and then ate what was left. It's been like this since September, and I am slowly getting better, but my body is a slow changer.

I've got a layer of fat over my stomach but i quit my martial arts because i was the only person going so that kinda made me loose flexibility and gain weight.
I play roller hockey though, still looking around for stuff i can do at home to loose weight and increase my muscle strength.
Just because he has abs, doesn't mean he's good at MA... And what kind of a person would post their abs on MySpace???? A person like that can't be serious about his training...

Do you mean by "Six Pack" that you have to flex them to see them? And "Ripped like BL" means that they are there all the time, and you can see them very well?
If so, I put "Ripped Like Bruce Lee"

LOL who needs a six pack when you can have a pony keg! j/k
I am back working out and trying to loose the weight and doing pretty good so far with it. I have lost just over 40 lbs since September of 2007 and got about another 40 to go then I will be happy. I have always been a big guy though.
I'm 5-foot, 9-inches tall and I weigh 160 pounds. I have a slender skeletal structure (small wrists and small ankles), but I have a very athletic build. No visible six pack, but my stomach is as flat and hard as an ironing board. Not bad for a guy who is about to turn 37.

well people post their abs on myspace because A- its Their space, so that means they can express themselves as they choose, and B- to show either their progress in their training or they are boasting saying "look at me!"
or it could just be because they simply want to.
So you cant really say someone is NOT a martial artist or if they are you cant say they are not serious just because of a picture on myspace. i dont even know how not being a MA and a pic on myspace connect to each other...
if you think this then that would be "Judging a book by its cover"
ha ha right?
Anyways, i am 5 foot 9, 145 lbs, and i am also an ectomorph.
i also have the six pack that is ,not very defined when i am not flexing, but its there when i am not flexing. since i am going for the ripped body style , not to look like bruce but because i believe that bigger muscles slow you down, i am gonna have to train harder.
but then again i am going to start packing a lot of protein in my diet so i can gain some muscle.
i need power to go with my speed

What's funny is you are my exact body type.
5 foot 10, 140-145 lbs, and also ectomorph. I eat like a horse, and work harder than anyone I know, but I can't gain hardly any muscle mass. Makes me mad that some people just grow into this beast that can beat anyone in an arm wrestle without having done any strength training.
I seriously think we would be a good match.
Haha, same here with abs as well. Practically twins except I'm white haha.

Oh, I was wearing Sweats in that vid, so I appeared bigger, but underneath there isn't much meat, I'll tell you. Besides, if we are the same hight and weight, our muscle mass can't be too far off.
