There are a lot of controversy surrounding this art but I think this is very unbiased explanation of the art.

Yes, I've heard different things about HRD through some ex-students. Pretty wild stories. Not sure what to believe.

Never heard of it (or maybe just slightly), but judging from the article, the "controversy" doesn't seem to have that big of an impact...

It's sad that once friends/teachers/students have turned against each other like that and display all their dirty laundry in world wide web for the whole world to see. It makes both sides look bad.

Home Country: I know most of those people mentioned in both sites. Since I do not know the exact details I can't really say one way or another for certain.
The art of Hwa Rang Do is awesome and the skills of those who taught HRD are unmatched. All other political stuff, just please it at the door.

Well that's actually good to know. Would you qualify Hwa Rang Do as a class apart, or does it look like other arts/techniques?

Home Country: Some people might argue but there are always some similarities and overlaps between many different arts - especially if you go back the lineage, there are always some connections that may explain the similarities.

What do you mean? Who's the one who started it?

Hwa Rang Do is a lot like Tae Soo Do, and I believe a lot of our art was based on it.
