teashoci will become famous soon enough

Hello from scotland

Hello,

My name is sean, I am a 23 year old student from scotland and I am starting muay thai training next monday.
For sometime I have been conditioning my body with free weights (mainly compound lifting), isometrics, plyometrics and cardio.

The next step for me is to actually start a martial art. I have chosen muay thai for 2 differant reason. The first being that I believe muay thai conditions the body and places huge emphasis on this, more so than a lot of other martial arts.

The 2nd being its dirctness and simplicity, Fewer kicks that are learned but are learned solidly. Eespecially in contrast o tkd which is point based and most clubs dont even do light sparring let alone full contact sparring.

any way nice to meet you all and I hope to speak to you soon.

Regards

Sean

It seems you have a good grasp of what you want out of a martial art, gotta give you props for that. Welcome to the forum and enjoy your training. Do you plan on competing?

Yeah maybe in a year or two. The muay thai club I will be starting at is reguraly visited by master sken and was part of his famous Sitnarong camp.

One of the reasons I have chosen muay thai is because I have seen how it can be used in self defence.

I have a friend and a little brother who have both practiced it for over to years both of them are no taller that 5'5" and I have seen my brother knockout multiple opponents (in self defence) who were far bigger, heavier and taller than him. And I have seen my friend break an over aggressive nighclub owners (who weighed about 200+ pounds) leg clean in half.

My brother and my friends shins feel like they are made of wood,
The conditioning techniques that they have learned are completely solid.

Of course this is not the sole reason why I am doing this

anyway thanks for the reply

sean
