I started training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu when I was 25, I'm now 35 and I train more than I did when I was 25!!
You could train at the Abu Dhabi Combat Club which is a good distance from Dubai but is one of the nicest Martial Arts school in the world and is run by world class martial arts athletes.

Hey, Im 42 and just starting. So, compared to me your in great shape! Your age should never be a death sentence. I saw on TV one time where the founder of BJJ (forgive me for not remembering his name or age) was around 80 or 90 and still bending young guys up like pretzels. Whether you subsribe to this syle or not, I said to myself I would love to be in that type of shape at his age. Because the only alternative is to reach that age in poor health and not be able to defend yorself if needed. There is a lot of good advice on this forum from a vast amount of experience. Regardless of your choice of style, its a great way to get in shape and learn something at the same time. You got a lot of years ahead of ya...go for it!
You are far too old to start training..............Just kidding . Make sure to do some research, don't be afraid to ask questions and be truthful with yourself; what do you want from training, and you'll find the right match for you. Oh and welcome to the forums.
Cheers and good luck training
p.s. UB#1 the name you are looking for is Helio Gracie

Tai Chi is a really interesting martial arts, if you wake up early morning in a chinese city and you go to a park, I bet you'll find classes of elderly citizens practicing it.

I think that if you enjoy it and get what you want out of it then its great!
hi everyone i'm new here and i'm interested in martial arts but i was wondering am i too old to start now ? i don't want to be a champion or anything ... just practice and stay healthy so what do you recommend ?
If you're old enough to ask, you're probably too old. I don't want to be the one to break it to you, but I'm going to break it to you. If you want to stay healthy, eat your fiber and try not to break a hip.
