Escrima is limited to only a few weapons. If you don't mind that, escrima is a fine art. I would reccomend talking to the instructor and watching a class if possible. Use your insticts about deciding on a school.
There are many fine threads here about choosing a school to join. Might want to look at those.

welcome to the forums. if you decide on Escrima, thats an interesting art to learn. and there are Lots of different weapons to learn in Escrima.....depends on what school/ organization you train at.

Sorry to disagree with you, Shinobi, but traditional Escrima doesn't have "a lot" of weapons. Stick and knife are pretty much it. If there are more weapons than this, it isn't traditional Escrima. Nothing wrong with that, but you should know what it is before you do it.
Welcome to the forum. Your question is the most asked question on this forum so take some time to browse around to get different perspective from others. Ultimately, you'll have to feel comfortable and confident with whatever decision you make. Not one style is fit for everyone and you need to find one that fits you the best.

the only escrima experience i have is with army combatives. and using balisong knives. but my girlfriend is from an Escrima family in the Phillipines
some of the weapons in Escrima are the bolo, different types of swords, darts, knives, throwing knives, daggers, and daggers.
weapons like the nunchaku were added later. but a common misconception with Escrima is that its only the sticks an knives.
one concept of Escrima is for one to learn to use anything as a weapon in a given scenario. take whatever everyday object is around and use it to defend ones self

Welcome to the forums.
Anything close to you and affordable to you is the thing to go for.
Don't think about what art to take, just start somewhere.
Don't think about weapons, as these are usually the last discipline in arts that have them.
