Hi folks,
I am originally from California. I have lived in Taiwan for the past 15 years. I started my Chinese martial arts career in 1976 in San Diego. Over the years I have studied a range of Chinese martial arts, including the northern systems of taiji, xingyi and pakua. My southern focus is on hung gar and Taiwanese Crane Boxing. Here in Taiwan I have studied western boxing, a bit of BJJ and judo.
I look forward to talking with the folks here. Just by way of photo introduction, here is a picture of me taken on our patio. I am doing a section of the Cheng style sword.

Hi folks,
Thanks much for the kind words of welcome. I look forward to talking with you all.
GoddeBMP; Taiwan is interesting. The Taiwanese martial arts world is actually a lot like California (where I came from) in the sense that you have a wide variety of martial arts systems (Chinese, Japanese, Modern) and a wide variety of teachers (great, good, poor).
I see you do judo. Taiwan was a Japanese colony for 50 years and the Japanese police had judo dojo in all the main police stations. Japanese judo and Taiwanese cops became quite linked. And that link is still around. For example one of Taiwans oldest judo clubs, the Wan Hwa Judo club, is located on the roof of the police station in Wan Hwa. Here is their website (it is in Chinese but you can see the pictures)
Welcome to the forum. Great picture to start off with!
