On average, I usually ask 3 to 4 questions per class (sometimes more with completely new material).
I will walk over to Sensei and ask him to demonstrate a technique or to prove that something works (I don't always blindly believe), sometimes he tries to get away when he sees me coming with that look on my face (Ha! Ha! Ha! ), but I'm not always a "PITA", sometimes I wait to till class is over to ask questions, because he is going over a very important concept with everyone in the class.
The only question I hate from students is ones beginning with the words "What if..." Those questions could be asked forever and most of the time they are absurd. (What if he has a second knife? What if he throws it at you? What if he also has a gun? What if his gun shoots knives?...) From a teacher's perspective all it does is waste time.

Now, if your questions are more in the range of "What is a good counter for this?" or "Why does this work?" There your questions are of the best variety because the whole class benefits.

you can look for a new school, besides, as kenpodog said, a great teacher is preferreable over any style.

Ha! Ha! Ha!
Rest assured, almost all questions have to do directly with the application of the material at hand or how it applies to other applications.
In addition, I always let him finish his demonstration/explaniation because some questions are answered during his explaination.

I understand this, with my old sensei I could ask a question and he would answer it with enthusiasm and passion, with my present sifu its like im bothering him, even when my questions are quite sensible, I understand he is busy with other students but I shouldnt feel like a pain to ask him a question.

thanks for all your help people keep it coming

Learning MA isn't always fun, but it should be fun most of the time. Anyway, it sounds like you've already made up your mind and its probably for the best.

To be honest, don't drop kung fu, but get into a different MA school. I'm going to say to get back into Taijutsu. If your sifu smokes alot of grass then you should keep in mind that you're paying for his weed...Which is wrong, obviously. The longer you stay in that class the more weed he'll smoke. If you care about your sifu (in my opinion), you'll drop the class and take Taijutsu. It will be better for everyone (including you). I can't order you. The above are just suggestions from a brother martial artist. Of course, he probably will still smoke dope, but at least you won't contribute to it.
