I thought I would make this post to try and inform other members about Shin Shu Ryu. This is a style of martial art that attacks pressure points and joints. Depending on the point and the amount of pressure of the blow there are many different affects that can occur. I was trained in this style by my father when I was 4 I was able to reach the rank of master when I was 23. This style can also be used for healing purposes. I will post a few different points and there affects later on in this thread.
The 1st point is known as Hichu. It is located in the center of the lowest part of the Neck, in the hollow, just above the sternum. The affects caused by this strike are, Suppressed wind pipe / stoppage of Breath / temporary stunning / slow death.
Umm interesting we touched on this pressure point (literally) in taijutsu, its very nasty, my partner did a soft strike there and had me coughing and spluttering quite bad, the dojo was a scene of chaos.
By the way welcome to the forums. Nice to have someone from japan join us hope you enjoy your stay
Not to get technical, but I thought that pressure points were clusters of nerve endings. This point just seems to give access to a vital organ. (Unless there is a cluster there I don't know about.) But honestly, just as good.

Either way, I am interested in hearing more.
You do have a small understanding of pressure points, but a pressure point in anywhere in the body where there are nerve endings or exposed organs. The traditional explanation of a pressure point is a gate way for the release of ki in the body. When a strike of a certain amount of force is landed on one of these points it closes the gateway. Which in turn cause the ki to continue to build at the point trying to escape the body, which cause great pain or death to the victim.
The 2nd point is Tendo. It is found at the top of the skull, 2 inch back from the mid point of the anterior hairline. With a light strike, dizziness a heavier strike may cause severe shock to the cerebrum / irritation of The nerves surrounding the brain / loss of ones mental and bodily senses / loss of motor organs / fracture to Suture at that point of the skull. Brain damage.

Ah ha, so exposed organs are pressure points as well. Thanks for clearing that up.
This is a very interesting style. Iga-Ryu using many pressure point strikes and joint locks to subdue, but this is the 1st style that I know of that only attacks pressure points. I believe that this would be one very dangerous style.

pressure points are very cool, in Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu we use them alot and they r very effective.
Does your art has something to do with Kotto Ryu Koppojutsu, Gyokko Ryu Koshijutsu or Takagi Yoshin Ryu jutaijutsu? I ask because those school of the Bujinkan use lots of pp
Is this a style of a MA like Karate or is this a completely separate martialart. the only pressure points we practise is the wrist, neck, inside of the thigh, bicep area.
