Home Country:  | What are the difference in judo, karate or jujitsu gis?
When I was looking around at judo gis I saw that even the beginner ones were about a tenner (Pound sterling) more than the karate gis. ANybody know why? Is it that they are much thicker?

Home Country:  | it is to do with thickness because of the way its stitch it also they are much stronger and much nicer to fall on becuase they need to be and they just are better imo |

Home Country: | Rules of competition for Judo are actually kind of strict with regards to the Judogi. Rules for BJJ are getting stricter but are a bit less strict than Judo.
But they are very similar in construction.

However, you can get a comparable super heavyweight karate gi for about the same price. The only difference is karate gis have flap ties and most judo and jujitsu gis don't because the tops are always getting pulled out of your belt anyway.

This same criteria does not exist for BJJ tournaments. So, the cut for a BJJ competition gi can be different than for a Judo tournament.

Home Country: | Also in Judo there are rules as to how tight your gi can be since the tighter the gi the harder it is to grab and throw
