Indeed, so they may not have to "sell" paraphanelia like many colored belts and colored electrical tape.

My club a few years ago had a very Senior practitioner of Iaido. His name was Mano Sensei this guy is very old and had actually used his sword in real combat. Probably one of the last real Samurai left in the world.

LOL! Nope, not unless "very old" means 160 years old or something.

lol @ electrical tape. i checked out the kids class. cause my dojo also has a school in another town for kids.

they have a colored belt system similar to Hatsumi Sensie's kiddie program. they learn the same way adults do but just have more belts instead of how the adult class just has 9 kyu grades of green.

but they dont have any testing fees an other stuff to rape a parent's wallet.

I would definitely consider an undercover government agent more of the modern day ninja, than what most schools call, "Ninjitsu"

Yes he did use his sword for real combat and the guy very old I don't know the age but I'm guessing 95-100. He is held in very high honor in Japan and does not lie. Mano Sensei used his sword in combat, maybe not as a true traditional samurai in the sense but someone who has used his sword skill in a real life threatening situation while in service.

I do not need to lie I am not 7 years old thank you.

LOL! Then maybe you shouldn't communicate as if you are 7 years old.

So, what was this 100 year old dude doing at your dojo? Lots of cardio work I guess?

What war exactly did he fight with his sword? Not that its all that hard to believe he might have done so in some instance or other. Heck, I'm sure some soldier in Iraq today has taken a hack at someone with a sword while over there. The funny part is the "He's a Samurai!" bit. That's the part that really sounds like a 7 year old. I guess you know that is not the case. You just wanted to say it because it sounded so 'cool.'

And where exactly was this guy from? Mano doesn't sound like a very common Japanese family name...
