Japanese Martial ArtsDiscuss Japanese style Martial Arts here - Aikido, Iaido, Jiu Jitsu, Judo, Karate, Kenpo, Kendo, Kyudo, Kyudo, Ninjitsu, Sumo
I am looking for a Japanese martial art school in NYC that can teach me traditional fighting methods and what they originally designed the art for. I do not want to join a school where all they teach you is how to run and get help, like those offered by the YMCA and other community organizations. Also, I would like one where the Sensei is a truely trained martial artist.
Well, I would like to take an all-year round Ninjutsu or Kenjutsu class, but most of the classes around my area are just corporations trying to make money, and the real dojos only accept 18 and over. I just want some tips on looking.

one of my friends Shihan Anthony Lucas teaches in NYC at bujinkan koteki dojo, you could check out his classes, along with learning traditional JMA, it has Kenjutsu from the Koto-ryu ryuha(school) and classes, ettiquette
are conducted the same way its done in Japan due to the Shihan and the circle that he trains in takes trips to Japan regularly and follow Sokes guidlines and training updates
