| Although I do agree that Jeet Kune Do gives the outward appearance of "some of this and some of that" the danger you point out is the same danger that Bruce Lee points out. Having a set style gives you strengths and weaknesses. The second most quoted person here, Sun Tsu, said that one who knows himself and his opponent would be the victor of a hundred battles. Bruce Lee goes beyond that and encourages people to be like water. When water is poured into a container it becomes that container. By being in this constant state of flux, you develop no clear cut (and thus exploitable) weaknesses. Also, if I'm not mistaken, Disgruntled has studied some Jeet Kune Do, even if only from books. So he might be a good source of info too. |
