Question Basics

I have been really interested in this martial art for sometime now and I want to know the names of the basic kicks.

have you done a web search? You can often find a lot of info on the web, since no one has really responded here yet. Good luck!

The names of certain kicks vary from art to art but here's a few VERY basic techniques. Try finding some videos like TKDkaren recommended.

Roundhouse kick
Side Kick
Snap Kick
Spinning Back Kick
Hook Kick
Wheel Kick
Stepping Side Kick
Jumping Snap Kick
Jumping Roundhouse

It should take you the better part of a few months to truly master all of these. Best of luck!

(I'm not sure if these are specific to or included in Muay Thai, so learn at your own risk.)

JKD as far as I know has no set tchnique list, it's up to who's teaching it. I would assume from it's strong Wing Chun influence it would have a cross stomp and a front kick for sure.
