Judo vs. Jiu jitsu

Hello,

Which of these two arts better prepares a person for real life self defence? Any thoughts?

If all you're looking for is real-life defense, (heh. I say "all" like that's such a simple thing to offer) I'd probably go with jiu-jitsu. It doesn't solely focus on grapples. There are also strikes.
This doesn't mean there aren't reasons to pick judo, but they aren't related to self-defense.

Judo's great, but ju-jutsu is more practical for self-defence. It also includes training with certain weapons such as the tanto (Japanese dagger).
