welcome to the forums. ive never heard of a Genbukan dojo being soft like that, they are usually more hardcore.

must be the intructors who became seduced with mcdojo-ism.

the thing with trying out a Bujinkan dojo is you might spend alot of time trying to find a quality dojo.

what part of the states do u live so we can do a lil search?

i dont live in america (how do i change that by the way?) i live in south east london and the whole of genbukan dose not practice sparring just set patterns might very well be the instructor tho with the way he is doing things isnt bujikan just like genbukan ? in that there is no full contact free sparring

Welcome to the boards, the Bujinkan kinda depends on the instructors on whether you do sparring or not. Some Bujin schools had out belts like trick or treat candy here to. Personally, I'd look for a Drunken Boxing School (kung-fu) with the vertigo thing. Also you could do go with a few other arts, like karate, judo or regular jujutsu. BJJ is also a pretty good adition to the skill sets but, it lacks a better striking system. Also if you would like you could check on Robert Bussey's American Ninjutsu system, he is pretty cutting edge and was from the BUjin, but broke away to make his own system. Personally I think its more effective then what I learned at the Bujinkan...

Robert Bussey no longer teaches Ninjutsu, he stop and also closed his academy RBWI, and he didn't teach pure Ninjutsu, it was a mix of Bujinkan with TKD and a little of jujutsu or BJJ

oh ok....so i guess we need the assistance of Jack G or one of them other Euro dudes on this forum who may be able to assist.

from some of the videos they have posted of thier schools, they have some pretty good jujutsu schools there

with bujinkan and genbukan some dojos do full contact an free sparring, some dont. the dojos that dont do sparring vastly outnumber the ones that do.

You could get a sparring buddy that wants to practice with you.

Actually it was Harang-Do, Judo, Jujitsu & Tang Su Do, the TWD was just Bujin propaganda...
