Top level Judokas are awesome to train with. The Yamasaki family is a hige Judo family in Brazil and all of our top Black Belts instructors were Judo black belts long before they were BJJ black belts. Fernando Yamasaki and Francisco Neto were very high level competitors in the sport, and Neto's wife is Kristen Allan who is ranked I think 2nd in the US and was training for the Olympics at one point.
The rule of thumb is pretty much if they get a grip on your gi YOU WILL be getting tossed.

I've always wanted to go against a good Judoka. I've gone against some brown belts but not like cream of the crop guys.
Eastern Tiger, who is on the list to come to the seminar next weekend, is a black belt in judo, so you might get your wish.

Do you train judo as a standalone style as well (getting ranked, etc.) or just mix the throws in at your BJJ classes?

We do not offer Judo classes separately or Judo belt ranks, no. But we do attend a lot of Judo tournaments especially Fernando Yamasaki and we work a lot of throws in the regular BJJ class.
