They aren't Katas as it is a Korean martial art, but I know Taeguek 1-8 Koryo and Kumgang from Tae Kwon Do. (Sorry, I just wanted to contribute and feel special.)

Who cares what your art calls them versus what our art calls them?
They're a series of movements designed to flow together, right?
It's the spirit of the thing that's important.

Sorry, I've been reading Thich Nhat Hahn recently.

The kata i do is pretty much what milly does, but i think there are some variations between ours because of organisation and how its been passed down.

Im going to the 4th Asian Pacific Goju Kai Championships and going to do Seipai and Seiunchin(sp?) One long year ahead.

Gojufreak. Do you do more mainland Japan style of Goju (eg. Yamaguchi, Kim)? Or Okanawan style (eg. Miyagi, eichi Miyazato). Our school is part of the Jundokan http://www.jundokan.jp/english/intro.htm so we're Okinawan goju.

sanchin
tensho
sanshin-tensho
saifa

these are all open kata there are many more to learn.MY sensei had once said that if the entire floor of the dojo was all the information martial arts had to offer I have barley scratched the

wanted to add one more thing to milly. I went to the link you had posted and noticed a Richard Verlaan in toronto. both he and his brother recieved their black belts through my sensei years ago when I was training in the childrens program. Its great to see he is still training and I hope doing well.perhaps I will try to find his dojo to stop in and say hello in the near future.

Hey Milly, yeah i do Japanese goju ryu aka Yamaguchi Goju, but goju is all the same, ive trained with many goju under jundokan and meibukan, and ive found its all the same, apart from some techniques in kata and each philosophy is different!!!

Thanks for posting the moves in each Kata. It's one of those things I've meant to do for a while. Always useful in classes.

Wado has a total of 15 katas as far as I know, those are:

the 5 Pinan katas
Kushanku (I think this is the wado version of Kanku Dai)
Naihanchi
Chinto (crane stances, might be our version of Gankaku)
Seishan
Bassai
Jion
Jitte
Wanshu
Rohai
Niseishi

I can only do the Pinan katas, Kushanku, Naihanchi, Chinto and Jion so far though. Oh and if I'm wrong with my shotokan comparisons, please correct me

There are a few kata specific to my school that we do:
Kihon Sanbon
Kihon Ippon
Kihon Nihon
Fukyu Dai Ichi
Fukyu No Kata

And the association ones:
Nihanchi Shodan
Nihanchi Nidan
Nihanchi Sandan
Pinan Shodan
Pinan Nidan
Pinan Sandan
Pinan Yondan
Pinan Godan

Passai Sho
Passai Dai (learning this one)
Kusonku Sho
Kunsonku Dai
Chinto (learning this one)
Gojushiho
Gorin

The ones I know are bolded. Then there are three or four White Crane kata that the higher level black belts learn but I don't know them. I know the names, can't spell them to save my life though.
