As some people wanted to know more about the technical sides i though i'd post about my style.
What is Wado-Ryu Karate?
Wado-Ryu Karate is a Japanese martial art founded by Hironori Ohtsuka Sensei in 1934. Ohtsuka Sensei developed Wado-Ryu after studying the Samurai martial art of Jiu-jitsu, and Shotokan (another style of Karate). This combination, according to Ohstuka Sensei, is a softer, more natural means of self-protection.
The full name of the style is Wado-Ryu Karate-Do. The term Wado-Ryu means "way of peace" or "way of harmony", indicating Ohtsuka Sensei's original intention to use training in Wado-Ryu as a means of solving problems in a non-violent way. Karate-Do means "way of the empty hand", as Karate is, for the most part, studied without the use of weapons.
Wadu Ryu's techniques are relatively simple. Easy to learn but hard to master correctly. I won't explain many techniques as i feel to learn Wadu Ryu you should go to a school and learn it for yourself and me teaching you over the internet is 1: showing disrespect for my school and sensei 2: not a good way at all to teach you about the moves. anway...
Punching & Kicking
In Waduryu there aren't many different punches as you might find in other styles. The front punch (jab) and the reverse punch are the 2 main punches used. Reverse punch also doubles up as a throw as using a reverse punch in a self defense situation may not be the best option. However just as many strikes use hammerfist, back fist, finger strikes (for pressure points) and a tonne of open handed techniques which i won't go into.
Kicking wise here are the kicks used in our style. Roundhouse kick, front kick, sidekick, backkick, scissor kick, sweeping kick, inner crescent kick, outer crescent kick and jumping front kick. Aswell as knee's.
Throws & Grabs
Waduryu uses throws & locks by directing your oppenents energy, twisting, bending, breaking fragile areas and by using knowledge of pressure point. Never is it a power vs power game.
Blocks
Waduryu doesn't have as many blocks as other styles as it seems to be a power vs power thing when blocking. The bigger emphasis is to direct the oppenents energy or move out the way of the attack into an area which leaves him completely open to him. (usually forward at a 45 angle). However the main blocks used are outer block with either left or right arm. Inner block with either arm. Cross block. Assisted block, downward block and upward block.
Stances
Here are a few stances used in Wadu Ryu. Front stance, backstance, cat stance, reverse cat stance, middle stance (otherwise known as horse stance), ready stance and sparring stance. Each stance has its strenghs and weaknessed and are used for different things.
kata
A main part of Karate styles. Alot of people think Kata is some sort of dance or exercise, WRONG. Kata is a group of movements which show different techniques and applications. Each Kata has 3 levels of use. Low level, medium level and high level. All moves in the Kata are low, medium and high level. Low level means just if some ones pushing you, or acting violenty towards you, this means the moves would just get rid of him, not hurt him but make sure he gets the point. Medium level techniques are when your in a fight and could get hurt, these techniques are nastier and are used to put your oppenent to the floor and hurt him. High level is when your life could depend on it, maybe someone is carrying a weapon or something. These techniques break bones, knockout your oppenent and can be used to kill.
A few Kata's in Wadu Ryu are,
Pinan Nidan
Pinan Yodan
Pinan Godan
Pinan Shodan
Pinan godan
Seishan
Chinto
Nai Han Chi
Ku Shan Ku (70+ moves

)
Kitte
Combinations
Combinations are usually set up so one move flows into another, there are lots of different sets of combinations in Karate. These are in different groups such as Omoto Kumite, Kihon Kumiti, Kison Kumiti and Teisu- No- Waza.
Well I hope i've helped you all understand Wadu-Ryu Karate a bit more. what I have said is only touching on Wadu-Ryu however i'm sorry i can't post more as i am not an instructor and it is disrespectful to my school and Sensei. If you want to learn more then you can always join a local class.
