Karate question

In karate there are lots of different style eg shotkan, ****o ryu etc etc i was wondering is there a style that is more like jujitsu but with more kicks. Thanks to jack im really into JJ atm but im still not sure bcoz i love punching and kicking, esp kicking (thats due to me trainin tkd as a kid) so i was wondering is there like a karate or any other thing that encorporates the kinda JJ style with more kicks and punches? or would it be better to just take JJ and then maybe to some thai boxing???

First of all, traditional JuJitsu is going to incorporate both kicks and punches. It is only modern JuJitsu, which has been largely modified for fighting in a ring, as well as for less-lethal self defense, that focuses on grappling.

Second, I am unaware of any karate that uses all that much grappling. Most styles have goshin jitsu, which are grappling techniques (or techniques to escape grapples), but I've never heard of any style that has a complete grappling "game."

This doesn't mean, however, that it doesn't exist. Someone else may have experience where I don't.

The reason for this sirdarksol is the organization I have recommended to him for JJ is mine which includes not a particularly large amount of strikes.
In reference to your question , I was talking to a 2nd jitsu sensei (he is also a experienced thai fighter and 2 nd in goju ryu - a close karate style,Also has a dan grade in judo) and he said "JJ is great if you generally want to be good at everything, but people often have their secondary style after reaching a higher level of JJ to concentrate on the aspect of JJ they like most or wish to be the best at " (that's why I'm contemplating Judo) .

marksmarkou is a jewel in the rough

Hi,

Wado ryu was created by Hironori Ohtsuka who was a mster in ju jutsu as well as okinawan karate, If you find a good Wado club, like Eugene Codringtons in Birmingham, you will learn the usual karate blocks, punches, kicks but also locks, takedowns and close quarter combat. Because its a karate style you will also practice a lot of kicks. Hope this was helpfull
