from what ive been told by my grandmaster and researched. the Pre-TKD Korean Arts such as Soo Bak Do, Tang Soo Do...etc. though they contain techniques from Pre-Japanese Occupation Korean Arts

such as dynamic kicking techniques. they've all been influenced by Japanese Karate in one form or another.

if you look at Okinwan Karate and mainland Karate such as Shotokan Katas....they are very similar to TKD poomsae and even more similar to the "Kwans" like Tang Soo Do and Soo Bak Do.

but the Japanese Karate katas have low kicks whereas Korean ones have higher kicks since Kicking is one of the trademark specialties of Korean arts since ancient times.

one thing that some of the Masters of Korean arts are trying to clear up is the mythical lies and Nationalism behind some Korean styles.....such as them being 2,000 years old and not having any influence from Japanese Karate.

when you tell people stories like that....its basically breaking one of the tenets such as Integrity
