I did do Kempo Karate once. However i quit within a month because it was a McDojo and i really didn't like. Obviously every dojo is different, but the fact of the matter is there are just too many karate and TKD McDojo's. It's damn near impossible to find a really good one unless you either go to Japan (or Korea in TKD's case) or go to NYC and search EVERY SINGLE DOJO. (Which could take up to 20 years lol) I swear i've seen Krav Maga, Savate, Jeet Kune Do, Wing Chun, Shotokan, Kempo, BJJ, Judo, AJJ, Aikido, Jujitsu, and damn near every martial art known to man.

hey
Doing karate will help us in the real life if we know how to use it. And almost all those dojos suck because they only want to do money with karate or they are very traditional on their trainnig, and thats not good.

Why is it when you hear BJJ it is always associated with ground fighting? Yeah, they always win one on one fights with almost anybody. Is it instinctive for every BJJ practitioner out there to go down to the ground once he engage an opponent? I wonder if a BJJ got mugged in the street by a few gang members, is he going to instinctively go to the ground?
In my opinion, in street fighting it is best for you to stay on your feet at all time. if you can finish the fight with one blow, then do so. Isn't this the principle teaching of karate? (I read about it somewhere)

Isn't it almost purely ground fighting? Whereas Wrestling and Judo have a much larger focus on takedowns and throws. I'm not sure.

I am so sick and tired of hearing the multiple oppponent theory as a wash for how BJJ is no good. This has been argued time and time and time and time time and time and time andtime and time and time andtime and time and time andtime and time and time andtime and time and time andtime and time and time andtime and time and time andtime and time and time andtime and time and time andtime and time and time andtime and time and time andtime and time and time andtime and time and time andtime and time and time andtime and time and time andtime and time and time andtime and time and time andtime and time and time andtime and time and time andtime and time and time andtime and time and time andtime and time and time andtime and time and time andtime and time and time andtime and time and time andtime and time and time andtime and time and time andtime and time and time andtime and time and time andtime and time and time andtime and time and time andtime and time and time andtime and time and time andtime and time and time andtime and time and time andtime and time and time andtime and time and time andtime and time and time andtime and time and time andtime and time and time andtime and time and time andtime and time and time andtime and time and time andtime and time and time andtime and time and time andtime and time and time and time again.

You haven't done it.

You don't know anything about it.

You cannot have an opinion on it's effectiveness.

Move on.

We had discussed the multiple opponent theory against BJJ but have we put that entire discussion to rest? I'm not saying BJJ practitioner is dead on water against any 1+ opponents. Not at all. However, certainly styles are better in certain circumstances and you have to admit that there may be other styles more effective against 1+ than taking someone down to the ground, wouldn't you say?
