Karate instructor charged with kicking student 200 times

Just makes my blood boil with the utter stupidity people try to pass off under the MA banner. If a rose would still be a rose by any other name; beating a child is still beating a child no matter what you call it.

here is the news link:

That's a pretty sad story. Even in the most hardcore schools I've been to, I never saw someone forced to stay in push-up position while an instructor kicked them repeatedly.

It's the people like this that cause parents to not want their children to be involved in anykind of sport or acitivies due to this "hazing style" of coaching/teaching!

Sadly, the guy probably still doesn't think he was doing anything wrong, especially if this is how he was taught.

Very true. And, from the remarks of the parent who was interviewed in the TV news story, he probably won't lose a lot of students over this either.

It was a female instructor who was reported, however her husband (the owner) was apparently NOT reported by any of the students he kicked.. *shrug*

This reminds me of "Y-The Last Man" when the women went crazy and became Daughters of the Amazons. All of them cut off one of their breasts so they could shoot arrows better.

See women are just as crazy and dumb as men .

On a more serious note my kickboxing instructor knocked me out when I was ten with a spinning backfist. The guy didnt even stop what he was doing he just kept sparring, it was a two on one thing.

At the time I didnt think much of it, hell, I didnt think much of it until I mentioned it on here a while back. Lots of people do some thoughtless things in the name of training. I feel sorry for the kids that continue to train there. They wont understand how wrong these adults are until long after theyve grown up.

At least we can only hope they'll understand how wrong their instructor's actions were. Some may become instructors themselves one day and think that type of behavior is how they should teach.

It's not that the beeing repeadtly kicked while in a push up thing that bothers me(even tho the push up position is odd to me) but its the reasoning, i mean come on To see if which of his two schools could take more kicks in that position is just looney

I fight this fight every time I do a chapter visit for my Fraternity. Although, its rare to find something as bad as this, its very easy for bad traditions to get passed down. People start to think that 'this is the way it has to be done.'

You got it wrong: Women are just crazy, guys are just dumb.
See... we drive them crazy, and we are dumb for not understanding crazy people.

I know what you mean about fraternity hazing. This is one of the main reasons why I am not involved with my college fraternity any more. I mean, I saw hazing in the military and in college, and I can actually understand the purpose behind some of it. It can promote teamwork and a sense of brotherhood, but there's a fine line between pushing people to their physical and mental limits and abusing them.

Knowing me,I'd would probably report him, know matter what he threatens me with.In fact threatening me will only make his situation worse. In case anyone didnt know,my fighting ability changes depending on how big of a threat the person is.The more of a threat, the better I am.
