What are your Rules..?

I'm just curious; exactly what are your rules for a karate tournament?

Myself I go with these rules:

For children 5 to 13:
1 point head w/ punch
1 point body w/ punch
2 points head w/ kick
2 points for throw or joint-lock
2 points for knock down
win if you knock the opponent down 3 times in match or make them submit.

3 five minute rounds

For Adults 14 & up:
1 point head w/ punch
1 point body w/ punch
2 points head w/ kick
2 points for throw or joint-lock
2 points for knock down
win if you knock/choke the opponent out in match or make them submit.

1 15 to 20 minute round

The kungf fu school I used to go to had a tourament every year. The kid's rules were basic point fighting. One point awarded to a good clean shot. No face, groin, back of the head, or kicks to the lower leg. The adult's had two divisions. They had the point fighting without many of the strike zone restrictions of course. The other division was continious. Two three minute rounds. If those were a draw then a third would go on to decide the winner. No contact to the lower leg. There weren't points awarded. You won the round by controlling your opponnent or showing better fighting skill. Breaks were only called if an opponent was chases out of the ring ( only allowed twice before disqulification ) or a fighter was put into a position they could not recover or defend themselves from.

Most tournaments we go to use the WKF ruleset.

It's officially no- or light-contact, but things get rough nearly every time, especially with less skilled competitors.

The rules are:

1 point for punches to head or body
2 points for punches to the back of the head or the opponent's back
2 points for kicks to the body
3 points for kicks to the head
3 points for a takedown or throw finished with a punch

2 minutes of fighting time for adults, match ends with TKO at an 8 point difference. The penalties would be a bit much to write here, the full rules can be found here:

WKF - RULES AND REGULATIONS

The Karate tournament rules for my style, allows for grappling and ground fighting. I'm curious as to how many people allow such methods in their tournaments?
