Hi everybody, Our sensei at my boys karate club is Egyptian and he knows some members of the Egyptian karate team and on many occasions they have come to visit our club. Mostafa Mostafa Sarah and Shaymaa stayed for 2 weeks but have now gone home. Obviously over time you get to know these people better and better and they were the nicest humblest people you could wish to meet. Its brilliant for our club having them visit.
Mostafa Ibrahim Khalil competed at the WKF junior and cadet world championships in Instanbul last year and became only the 2nd person in the comps history to collect 2 gold medals at one championships ( team and individual kata)
Sarah Assem collected a bronze in individual Kata and Shayaam MAgdi collected bronze in Kumite.
Mostafa ibrahim ali has only just turned 16 so he will be entering his first competition next year.
They really are a talented bunch and i have many videos i have taken of there stay at the club during training and during competition. We had 3 competitions whilst they were here I will post them as i get them up on youtube.
They also made me teh proudest father in the world
If you watch the video below you will see why! The first player doing Unsu is Mostafa Khalil the current world champ!
If somebody could be so kind as to let me know the kata in the 2nd vid i would be most grateful
Those are some quick and crisp motions. I especially like it because of the lack of added vocal sound effects (only the sound of his breath control is heard) that is so prevalent in competition these days.
Also, I edited you post to embed the video because the video embed button has vanished.
Very beautifully performed katas. Your club was lucky to have such talented visitors.

Extremely lucky Within a year and a half i have gone from knowing nothing about karate to witnessing karate performed at the top level. The kids / teenagers and adults at the club have all benifitted from these players being at our club and the experience will rub off on them.
Did you watch the whole vid? Its not very often that a 6 year old gets to captain a double world champ, he didnt really look to out of place either apart from the size obviously Next time they come over they can do Heian Nidan and Jion hehe.
Thanx Chapel for embedding the video and i agree Mostafa doesnt over elaborate with unneeded noises he just lets the moves do the talking.
Sarah has actually taught herself for the last few years as shoto ryu is not practised as much as shotokan in Egypt. She`s doing something right anyway.
Shaymaa - kumite
Tough little nut is Shaymaa, what she makes up for in size she makes up for in speed.
The last vid is a competition we attended a couple of weeks back its the opening ceremony and Mostafa performs kata before teh games commence. Not a bad job i made of the vid as per usual it was all done on my phone. Our club are wearing the blue trackies and my boy leadsd them out.
