As much as I hate these sr. ranks (pretty sure it's there just as a revenue generator) it is nice that I can take the next few months and perfect the form. I was pretty shakey out there at testing.
The sparring is picking up as well. I found myself gasping for air after only two rounds. I think I am gonna have to take up running or find a better way to manage my breathing while sparring. OR ... maybe I should stop smoking! |
Now, running, walking and quitting smoking are all good ways to increase your stamina for all sorts of different reasons (increasing lung volume, increasing lung utilization and reducing weight to name a few). However, sparring is a whole different monster all together. It really requires you to be able to give it your all for a few seconds, then take a few seconds to recoup. Wind sprints might be a better idea, but that is still mostly legs. Really, the best way to increase your wind for a sparring match is to simply spar more. If you don't have a partner, do shadow drills.
Grats on Sr. Blue, grats a second time on having goals to reach (more important than rank).
