I was wondering - say for instance you have two/three korean "symbols" making up a word... Does the meaning change when the symbols are displayed vertically instead of next to each other? Or (as in English) you simply read top-down and meaning stays the same?
Each "block" makes a syllable. No, the meaning doesn't change if they are vertical or horizontal.

Is there an alphabet in Korean? If somebody asked me to translate their name, unless I have a meaning, I wouldn't be able to do it, unless their name sounds like something.
