After a request from another member, I have decided to make a thread on Hangul; the Official Korean Script. I will teach you how to Read and Write in Hangul Script; both by Hand and on your Computer. First I won't include the more Complex Grammatical Rules of Hangul, but if this thread becomes popular and highly appreciated, I'll probably take it to the higher levels
First "Lesson" Will Be On What You Will Learn During This "Course", What You Need And What You Definitely Won't Learn.
Enjoy IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO POST HERE OR SEND ME A PM

Short Review:
Hangul, the Korean Script was created by King SeJong of Joseon in 1443. The Script was created secretly within the Royal Family to hide it from the educated. The Reason why SeJong created Hangul, was because he saw that the people were being mocked and harassed by the educated, only because they could not read or write Hanja(Chinese-Korean Script). SeJong decided to make an easy script, which anyone could easily learn. The design of the Characters, are based on the people; every character symbolized a person in a specific position. The first Official Hangul Document released was called Hunmin Jeongeum ("The Proper Sounds for the Education of the People").
The Hangul was not appreciated by the educated, who now was on the same literate level as the villagers. SeJong said this about Hangul: "A wise man can acquaint himself with them before the morning is over; a stupid man can learn them in the space of ten days."
Hangul has been banned a number of times in Korea; In 1504-1600's and during the Japanese Occupation: 1910-1945.
Fun facts:
There is No Illiteracy In Korea(When Hangul Is Used)
HanGul Means "The Great Script"
There Are 51 Hangul Characters
Hangul Is Written In Syllables
For Each Syllable, there is at-least 1 consonant and 1 vowel
The Real Teaching Will Start In The Next Lesson, Where You Will Learn Your First 5 Consonants

Having studied several different languages, I can honestly say Korean is the easiest language to learn (in terms of reading/writing at least)
Korean characters have 14 consonants and 10 vowels and there is only one way to read and write it. Once you learn the alphabet, anyone can read and write. I've taught so many people how to do this with very little effort.
This one time, I was in Korea with an American and he taught himself Korean just by reading the street signs. He didn't know what the symbols were but he noticed certain shape of letter always appeared with certain sound and by me teaching him just the basics, he learned how to read and write. (Obviously, this is a very gifted person to begin with but it also show how easy Korean writing is)

These are the basics... There is a total of 51, including the "never" used ones...

Just found out you can also help learning by going to Google Translate
Not quite sure how accurate it is but it helps me translate my certificates.
Its good for translating short words and phrases... The problem is that in Korean, one word has a lot of different meanings... So don't try long sentences

S = ㅅ
Silent/NG = ㅇ
J = ㅈ
CH = ㅊ
Now, with your Calligraphy pen/brush and paper, draw these character using these Instructions:
B/P = Draw Two Vertical Lines downwards, starting with the Left (Small space between them) - Draw Two Horizontal Lines Starting from the left, connecting the Two Vertical Lines Starting with The Top One - http://i6.tinypic.com/6z6n37s.jpg
S = Draw A "Bent" Line, starting at the top going towards the left - On The Middle of the Bent Line, Draw a Line going to the Right - http://i1.tinypic.com/7xy8isp.jpg
J = Draw a G, only that the Vertical Line should look like the "Bent" line on the S - On The Middle of the Bent line, draw a line to the Right - http://i12.tinypic.com/80zyjc5.jpg
What do you mean by the "never used ones"? Are there symbols that simply are not used, is it that they are rarely used (like J or Z), or something else entirely?

They are Rarely used... These are mixtures of characters that are close the never used in common writing. (You can't even write them on a computer...)
