Totally fake.

You guys ever hear of a BJJ fighter named Jacare? The guy is known for being super athletic and acrobatic in competition, he does crazy stuff FOR REAL in BJJ tournaments, here's a vid:

I was commenting on the original video and whether it was a demo or real.

Jacare is a stud dude. Hey Joe I got a guy fighting Christian Uflacker if you know who that is.

Oh nice, that guy has good jits. He should be relatively to train for, there's a lot of video out there of his matches. When's the fight?

Wow, that guy just doesn't stop. I've not seen anyone keep driving through like that. When he drives in he seems to grow extra length on his legs to keep pushing. He's quick as hell to get a lock on too.

Yeah, he's a beast. In that video you also see a match he had with Roger Gracie in which he was up on points when Roger snapped his arm with a straight armlock and Jacare just kept fighting. Unreal.

Wow, the one post on chi snowballed pretty well, so I forked them into a different thread in the General Martial Arts Section.

The big difference between Joe's video and Hajilee's, beyond just the 'real' or 'fake' part of it, is that the TKD video involves techniques with a high degree of difficulty, where as the BJJ video involves regular techniques performed with extraordinary speed and skill.

The BJJ guy does his techniques and quickly switches to a different one if something isn't working. The major advantage, I think, he has is that he focuses on his opponent so intently that he, at times, loses which direction is up.

For a type of BJJ which is more on the level of the original post. Look at this:

Nothing like a choreographed demo with unresisting human punching bags to make a person look like a martial hero.

hmm Seems we had this discussion previously, huh? Posting some new one liners other than "like chi demos" or "just like Shaolin" would be nice. These are getting old.

Choreographed or not, you still have to admit that both the first and last videos posted do exhibit a certain amount of skill.

Certainly I agree with that. It takes great physical skills and to be honest I enjoy watching stuff like this. However, great physical skill does not equate into fighting skill. It certainly helps, but it isn't the same.

I was about to state the same. To which I may add, that this type of skill may not be actual martial art skill. Anyone can do this with a little practice from watching vid and movies. Thus, can they actually be considered as martial art teachers as well?
