Whoaness Korean fighting

Is this for real? Or is it just a demo. This had to be one of the coolest things I've seen.

Wow. That guy really perfected the art of walking up the body of an immobile person and then stomp-kicking them in the back of the head.

Are there people who train that hard? Yes. Are there people capable of that? Yes. Was that a real sparring match? No. There were just way to many fringes of choreography. For instance, for people who train that hard, the guys in white had embarrassingly slow kicks.

I kick slower than that.

But do you train as hard as they were showing in the video? Don't get me wrong they aren't slow, slow. However, if that is real they just have little or nothing to show for all their hard work. Doing training like that, which is easily in the top 10% on the hardness scale, should put you in the top 10% of speed (speed being a main focus of Tae Kwon Do). They reasonably should be faster.

If you did I would hope that you would at least have the ability to 'chase' an opponent while kicking. For instance, the axe kick around 1:50 wasn't quite as 'real' as it should be. Beyond that there are lots of bits around 1:25 that scan like the attacker is trying to miss.

Tae' kyon people are pretty fast but yeah the sparring part was demo. and they really do train like that.

Well gotta love how they must make thier ball before they do whatever they are gonna do. At least we have warning that there is a chi master going to attack...he strats reeling silk in order to gather his chi. As a counter point to this, I've seen things I can't explain and been told its chi. I've got an open mind and since I couldn't explain it i except the explanation offered. Of course, none of that stuff involved circling the hands around like they were about to cast a spell

All of it can be explained......

Have you heard of a guy named James Randi?

However, the modern definition of Chi, is explainable to a logical degree.

I am a sceptic, 47MM, even if I have an open mind. I know, kind of an oxymoron. I accept there are things I don't know. I also realize there are things I do know and I'm no rookie, wanna-be-a-jedi, martial fan boy. I've taken way to many lumps for that I've seen the tricks many, many, times. Even performed my share of them at demos. When I accept its chi, I am on the recieving end of the "trick" and I still can't explain it. Does it necessarily mean it is chi? Nope, not at all. Whatever it is, its' interesting whatever its called.

Indeed. Open mindeness should not "throw caution into the wind"
