My favorite is the spinning back kick. I can generate more power with the stepping side kick but, given my size, I believe the spinning back kick is less expected by my opponent and therefore more effective.

I think I'd prefer my fav kick to be the side kick the way BRUCE does. you slap it and fall back to yor guard immediately with out loosing balance.

That, I think, is the major advantage that back kicks have. They come from the opposite side than what is expected and so can be used to get a good hit in on someone who is able to block you by reading your kicks.
