It is just a hand strike. I have it in one of my kung fu books. It is kinda leopardy.

Eagle claw is one of the later kung fu systems based off of Shaolin martial arts ( external kung fu ). While it does have strikes, its' main focus is Chin Na...a form of grappling using joint locks and tendon and muscle tearing.

As far as the eagle claw hand...its a grabbing hand using the thumb, forefinger, and middle finger.

So the legend/myth goes....

I think it was more of a way to describe Chin Na, without the mythology
