I been doing martial arts for a few years, but just recently someone asked me what Kung fu is and what it teaches philosophically, and the only thing I could say was a chinese martial art, so can someone tell me what kung fu teaches philosophically.

not all kung fu schools teach anything philosophically - I know I sure dont

kung fu means achievement through very hard work. As a fighting system it denotes Chinese martial arts. Other than that, it can be just about anything. Your question is just to broad for specific answers.
