How can we talk about martial arts action stars without mentioning Bruce Lee? He is by far the best action star of all time. Others have come and gone but the legend still lives on. I have heard that any time Bruce Lee is on the cover of any magazine, the sale goes up by 20% every single time.

Do you guys think what happened to both Bruce and Brandon are pure accidents or part of the curse? Official cause for Bruce was cerebral enema (water in brain), as complication from pain killer he was taking for his back pain and official cause for Brandon was a live bullet that was wedged in the stunt gun happened to go off on one of the scene. There are some theories that demons have haunted both Bruce and Brandon (In the movie "Dragon", Bruce was able to thwart the demon from going after Brandon, but this movie was released before Brandon's tragic death), or that Triads have killed them for teaching martial arts, considered Chinese secret, to non-Chinese.

Yes, exactly. This is why Bruce Lee is the Man, the Myth, the Legend. Even 30 years after his death, he is never forgotten.

Bruce Lee was a bit before my time but when I watched his old movies, it looks good for the time that was filmed (in the 70's) but compared to the movies made today, the movie technology has certainly made the hero look much better.
This by no means disrepect to Bruce Lee fans. I'm just stating what I think.
Bruce Lee was a way ahead of his time in his movies. This was all before using the computer graphics or fancy wiring. You can't compare that to the watered down movies of today.
Even though he's only made a few, whenever his new movie came out, it always broke the previous record for a martial arts movie.
I don't see any new guys doing that. They may have a hit here and there, but their new ones are not always better than the previous one.
Long Live the Legend!

Absolutely a legend. I actually remember hearing of him being in a real fight that lasted about 5 mintues. The accounts of that fight are fuzzy in my mind but I would PAY to see Bruce Lee seriously destroy somebody.
Bruce Lee is still as popular and maybe even more so because he is "forever young" and did not live long enough for us to watch him "fade away".
We saw Norriss, Wallace, etc., retire, get old, get hips replaced (Norriss) and saw new younger people come up behind them.
I for one am no fan of Lee. He did make great movies. But somehow he got this reputation for being the greatest fighter who ever lived, yet he there are no great public fights.
I do know of one fight where he travelled down to L.A. making challenges at various schools. He went into a Kyokushinkai school and got badly beaten. Then went back up to San Francisco and never challenged another Kyokushinkai man.
If we had seen him get old and his movies become less popular, he would not have the image he has today. He would be yestrdays news. But there is also the "mystery" of his death, the "tang" and "ninja" assassination stories and all the hollywood glamour that goes with that that also helps propel the myths.
He weighed barely over 110lbs so I'm guessing he'd be in the Lightweight division.
He never would have entered the UFC. Losing a public fight would have killed his movie career.
Google "bruce lee" and "gene lebell". Gene was working on a movie with him and they ended up in an arguement with some threats from lee. Lebell picked him up and carried him around with lee screaming "put me down or I'll kill you". Lebell just said "I can't put you down. You'll kill me" and carried him around for 45 minutes. No more lip service from lee after that.

That's quite a statement. Where did you get this information?
