Yeah, but if he is a troll, at least he's an entertaining troll and not an abusive, a-hole troll.

Segal had a super ego with a super mouth.

The Segal Seven (Although termed as the Dirty Dozen) were well-known martial artists who got together to challenge Segal in response to his negative and rude remarks about other martial arts/artists. Bob Wall, Jim Harrison, Allen Steen, Bill Wallace, Howard Jackson, William Rodriguez and Roger Carpenter. The April 1992 issue of Black Belt Magazine.

Thank you for this post, MartialMan. I've been looking for more info on the Segal Seven for a while. I actually saw the episode of The Arsenio Hall Show where Segal claimed that he could beat any man alive.

Its ok to love the art you practice, but to make such a boast.....

He lost a lot of credibility when he never responded to the challenge.

If there are awards on this site, this thread should win thread of the year!!!!

Hey Joe I thought Chucks bjj black belt was honorary but, he did start training to really receive it. I thought that he was only a blue belt in reality. Still props to the dude for not accepting just an honorary belt!!!

Okay, complete, there's your first nomination of the year. And, for the record, I second that motion.

Wow, really? I had never heard that, I wouldn't have thought the Machados would hand a belt out like that but maybe they did.

My bad Chuck you're listed as a brown belt under Carlos Machado. The web sites are always slow so he's probably a black belt. My bad Chuck. I may have heard from an Eddie Bravo book or something.
