Elbow injury

I injured my elbow/arm while training in Jun Fan Gung Fu. I was holding the mit for a stomp kick and the pain shot through my elbow, forearm, wrist and bicep. The pain was about a 9 on a scale of 10.

I have been treating with ice, heat and rest and it is somewhat better but is still giving me some pain, especially when rotating my wrist/ forearm.

Does anyone know what the injury may be? I assume I hyperextended it but there is no pain to the back of my elbow?

Erm broken arm?? lol soz, sounds pretty painful, if the pain is that much i would say go see a doctor as it will most likely need special treatment to heal properly.

Thanks for the suggestions! I'm going to check it out with the Dr. I don't think it's broken as I have not lost range of motion, I just have pain. Do you think it may be a ligament and/or tendon issue?

yes, sounds like it.

remember though- ligaments/tendons are just as important as bones so a tendon injury is not necessarily a lesser one...

It was last Thursday, so 5 days. I actually got it checked today and the x-rays were normal. He believes it to be a partial tear of the biceps tendon. He said it should respond with pt in about 4 weeks but if it doesn't then looks like surgery.
