Martial Arts InjuriesDiscuss how to deal with martial arts injuries and illnesses here
Sometimes when I overly stretch the skin under my big toe rips, disgusting but painful. Does anyone know anything I could do to heal this faster or anything else?
Could this be "athlete's foot"? I know the skin gets more tender in that area when you have athlete's foot and it's pretty easy to pick that up at any training facility or gym where people are barefoot.
If you are sure it is not, you might try to tape it up before you stretch to see if that helps. That's really the only advice I can think of right now.
I found that using epsine salt then covering with liquid bandage is a great help for any cut or tear in the skin. I will tell you now that this will burn and fill like you are on fire, but it will help with the healing process greatly.
This same thing happens to me. Well-used to. One time serious infection got in. Epson salt is a way to draw out infection, but it does cure the problem.
The problem is in dryness. The skin is too dry and you abrase it on the floor. Get a lotion to moisterize the skin often (not during the broken or healing process.
Mix powdered Alpha Sun Algae and Acidophilus together and sprinkle on the wound. The mixture will stop the bleeding and start the healing process. You can also add Goldenseal if desired.
When the wound starts to heal, mix Alpha Sun Algae, Goldenseal, Acidophilus and Enzymes with pure water (no chlorine) into a paste and apply daily. Rinse off when dry.
Once the wound is healed, rub cold pressed olive oil onto the area 2-3 times daily to complete the healing process without scarring.

i get that too. i have flat feet so more of my toe touchs the floor and causes problems. you can buy medical tape and wrap it around the toe that is getting injured. this will stop the problem because if the skin is not touching the floor it can not get stretched. until you current injury heals you might want to wrap it in goss first to give it padding. disinfect your toe first because goss+sweat+heat+dirt=infection.
Happened to me once and my solution was the same as Jaysons. Keep em dry. For me it was because I didnt dry my feet well enough after I got out of the shower.
