Home Country: | We spar, depending on the experience of the opponent in class depends on how hard.
Newbies is non contact.
junior belts very light contact.
medium belts light contact.
senior belts, as much contact as we both agree on.
Sometimes we have conditioning classes where we cant block just to teach us not to flinch from a face punch (close your eyes cant see the next one coming) or to breath properly for body strike. My pain endurance has risen remarkably, but I still bruise really easily. spend the fllowing day comparing bruises LOl |

Home Country: | There's a sempai in my dojo who's really tough and I spar with him whenever we're both there. He uses grappling gloves (which have little padding) and his kicks are crazy. Once he clocked me with a roundhouse to the face. I give him a combo or two and then I get winded and need to catch my breath. He says to suck it up, and I comply. I fight hard (I'm still a yellow belt), and sometimes am able to give a good hit or two, though after sparring with him I get rather winded and need to sit and catch my breath for a few minutes. I drink about half of my 1.5L water bottle and lack as much energy as I usually have through the rest of my time at the dojo. I recognize that my weakness here is stamina as well as pain threshold (which is how this relates to the thread). I am normally able to easily withstand hits from the other students, it's only this sempai I have trouble with. What do you guys think of this?

Endurance wasnt a problem until i sparred with my Sifu, thought the 3 minutes were really long......the time keeper was so engrossed he forgot to stop the spar until 7 1/2 minutes . Was off the mats on my hands and knees gasping for air after! |

My body can withstand more due to the training and my mind tends to concentrate on getting me out of the situation I'm in then feel the pain later. I think a lot of people that train are like this. Its what my friends and I call the "That's-gonna-hurt-tomorrow syndrome." Guess it applies to drinking alchohol too | Drinking alchol is a chemical based resistence. Just becauseone there is going to be a consequence, does not mean they will heed

Home Country: | Spar is good for endurance..hehe, the more spar and frequent u involve, the more ur body can resist the pain..our body has special healing, when our body has been hitted many times, the particular area become more tense and hardening. Then there is the time that our body can start resist the pain..hehe.. |

Sparring may have one overcome some mental block of getting hit, but is someone has a low tolerance for pain, they may never built a tolerance.

Simply I posted: Not really. Sparring may have one overcome some mental block of getting hit, but is someone has a low tolerance for pain, they may never built a tolerance.
Yous posted; So you're saying if you can't take a hit it will stay that way for a lifetime?
I posted; Almost. Wasn't you whom had posted meditation could ease pain?
To which you hadnt really answered.
My question, WAS it you whom had posted and/or agree, that meditation could ease pain? Simply answer Yes, no, or Agree.....

My question, WAS it you whom had posted and/or agree, that meditation could ease pain? Simply answer Yes, no, or Agree..... | I see your point; yes, I do believe that meditation may ease pain...Do you consider training to be meditation in and of itself, or are you referring to solid meditation that takes place before, during or after training?
