originally. i had to go to walk-ins so i saw different doctors.... the first said that it could be a bruse on the tendon causeing the pain. but the last time i went the general feeling was that if it was soft tissue damage i would have had signs of improving over the last two weeks and i haven't. a got to the point where i could walk (limp) fine.... and i thought it was getting better but then i realized that i was just learning how to limp best to take off pressure.... the foot has really improved very little. and to touch and squeeze it does not hurt, it is when i apply weight that i am in pain. and there was no one incident in MA that i remember getting hurt doing, i assumed i kicked someone, but who knows.... so the doctor think it was the continuous stress to one the foot over and over that slowly developed into a stress fracture.

Meanwhile, if you feel a void needs filling in your mind, research the mental side of your martial arts, physics of striking, stance applications, instead of physical training. If that's not your cup of tea you could go into the philosophical side.

I'm no expert, but getting into more exercise seems risky.

I agree, I have decided that if I ever get injured again, to where I can't continue with the ohysical, I am going to study more mental/ Philosophical.
the thing is, I am really into Philosophy , and that is most likely thanks to Jeet Kune Do
I love the Philosophical side of Martial Arts, because you can always learn and benifit from it!

i agree with you but i have studied a lot of the philosophy and continue to do so while injured or not. but i like the idea of reading up on other stuff... because although i have read a lot on philosophy my knowledge on the more practical side is lacking.... topics like nutrion, muscle training, general anatomy.

Now I know. I got a huge bruise from kicking someone's elbow.

Next time you block kicks, use YOUR elbow. You won't hurt, your opponent will hurt like hell.

How about punching your bag from a sitting/stationary position? Handstands and pullups, leg raises etc.

I have a knack for philosphy and logic but I guess I'm too young and hyperactive to be bothered about books and thoughts.

HELP PLEASE!
Noooooo! This is why I should make sure I come here more often.

I've missed a golden opportunity here to pass on my ancient mystical heal-all remedy!

All you need is;

2 bananas (still part green)
1.5l bottle of sprite (no substitutes accepted)
A medium sized meringue
Squirty cream
3 freshly laid free range eggs from a cream leg bar hen
Pack of Polo's
Camera
Mirror

Mix all the above (except camera and mirror) into a blender and drink 50%.
Add ice to the remainder (must be fresh, not frozen) and finish off.

Hold camera whilst looking into miror, take photo of rather green face.

This wont help your foot but it might just take your mind off it

Hope it all gets better soon

SIX WEEKS!!!! SIX WEEKS!!!!!! just got my results back of my bone scan... yes i was a stress fracture, and now, 4 weeks later it is starting to heal but i have to go easy on it for another six weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so i figure that if i go to double classes (two classes in a row), but sit out of running/jumping i should be fine. one class is not giving me enough of a work out..... maybe one class but then stay after to exersice a lot.... or maybe i dunno.... how am i going to survive another SIX WEEKS!!!!!!!!

Legendary green herbal tea does help. I know that it sounds cliche but it's true. It really works. Rest your body in medium to hot (not too hot) bath water. Sit there and focus on what you really want to improve on in martial arts. Think about how you were injured. Make sure that you oil yourself down with Johnson's baby oil. It works somehow. Don't ask. Stretch your muscles occasionally so that you muscles won't have any types of cramps or anything like that. Rest, most importantly rest your body so that you won't reinjure yourself so easily. Be safe. DRAGONZORD OUT!

One thing that might is very very very very strong herbal tea.I do that for me so that i don't conscentrate on the pain. The reason for this is that heavy concentration on one
area makes the pain worse.as far as the injury itself, this may sound corny.but get plenty of rest, and try not to move much.

I'm not a doctor though,so take what i say with a grain of salt.Just not in your tea.
