Knee collision

Was sparring today when I jammed knees with my partner and our knees crashed. The impact was quite great. Then after that I couldn't bend my left knee or squat because of the pain on the right side of my left knee, just under the kneecap. I have trouble walking up and down the stairs.

I'm wearing a knee brace right now. It makes it so much better. I don't have any swelling or redness so it's nothing serious right?
Do I need to see a doctor?

I'm just scared that the ligaments are injured and it won't heal properly and then become chronic...

I'm sure its not permanent. I would see a doctor and then you'll know what it is.

TreacherousThrive will become famous soon enough

My mom's a nurse and over the years I've learned a thing or two so my opinion is that if it has taken 1-2 days (I'd wait a day and a half) and you see no improvement on said knee then its time to schedule an appointment for the doctor. From what you have said, I'd of called my doctor and scheduled an appointment already. In the mean time try to keep from excessive use of that leg.

Nice reply.

Joint hyperextension and sprains have to be pampered.
