He was also getting kind of fat and not really looking like a 'kid' anymore either.

Yep. So he had to have been in his 30s during the third movie. I would have much preferred that they left the whole story alone after Karate Kid II.

yeah same here.
i say they should've done something where they take a karate kid and teach him something completely different. Im not talking Karate to Kung fu, but more like a style thats completely different and weird to the star, like Capoeria or something. Maybe that would have done better than 3 or 4

Okay I got a Karate Kid plot.
GoddeBPM moves to America. He is chased by an angry Ninja gang after an unfortunate incident during which he realises "bashing" has a different meaning in America from that in the UK (re General Chat Thread: "let's just bash each other).
He runs into 47MM's house who convinces him that Ninjas don't actually exist. With this new found knowledge he challanges the Ninja gang. Reciting the mantra "I don't believe in Ninjas, I don't believe in Ninjas", he causes the Ninja gang to question themselves and the truth of thier abilities. They all dematerialise in puffs of smoke and the film ends without a single fight scene.

I miss Mr Miyagi. Pat Morita is good Martial artist in the TV series he played. He was a lovable character. I always see him as Master Yoda in Starwars. There are lots of resemblance. He should have played the part instead of the puppet.

That's in the sequal. When you take GoddeBPM to the ever mysterious land known as China Town. Home of the ancient Shaolin Temple (founded in 2004).
After cricising the Shaolin 13 animals system (the thirteenth animal being the newly added Fish Style), GoddeBPM is marked for assassination by the 23 year old High Abbot.
Being the little coward that he is, he runs away and even changes his name to Jason. However the Shaolin monks (masters of the secret internet links syetem) track him down.
Just as they are about to give Jason the wedgie of his life, 47MM steps in and engages them in a philosphical debate. After 24hrs of being lectured the Shaolin monks decide to commit Seppuku, thereby confirming 47MM's suspician that they weren't Shaolin monks after all but rather a failed Japenese boy band.
