Another Karate kid....
this saddens me and makes me angry because the karate kid was a classic MA movie, and it was good. Not the one with the girl, no offense to girls, but that one sucked IMHO. well, my mom first brought this info to me, and she said there is a remake. Starring Jackie Chan as Mr.Myagi and will smith's son, Jaden as the new karate kid. I think it is a bad idea, because Pat Morita was Extremely cool. The Karate kid is a classic, but i guess i'd still see the movie.

Oh no...... that looks like its gonna be a horrible remake
a 9 yr old? thats a corny plot. it should be in the 15-21 yr range. and bring back the Kobra Kai....whose got a new sensei, with some other rival schools as well.
but this new karate kid looks like its gonna suck

ha ha ha yeah i think it is gonna suck! how can you connect with a 9 year old martial artist? you can't unless you are still learning your ABC's.
also, I couldn't help but saying......."will smith's son!!! he is like 9 years old, why don't they just get me to do it???" ha ha hey I can dream right!!

They should've stopped with the first one. It was original and had some positive influence of martial arts in America. All the rest, including this one, are not necessary....

i think the 21st century could use a Karate kid. a story that can be in the vien of the original one....but they sure are screwing it up right from the start.

I hope this production dies on the vine before it reaches fruition. It just sounds like a bad idea, almost blasphemy to me. I mean, the original had such a good message and positive effect on martial arts as a whole. Despite the far-fetched idea that a scrawny kid with three months of training could beat a whole host of black belts and win a full-contact tournament like that.

i recently read on the news that they want to do the movie in Hong Kong
but why the heck would u want to remake the karate kid in Hong Kong.....you should call it the Kung Fu kid instead.
unless the movie would be exploring the origins of the Miyagi family Karate through its Chinese origin by way of Okinawa

True, i agree.to be truthful i would rather go see a movie named "the Kung Fu Kid' rather "Karate Kid"
