yeah i saw the movie.
i thought it was entertaining/ Worth watching.
The best part to me was showing another side of MMA. The side without all the Attitude and ego towards Being the best and Kicking the crap out of people.
It showed more of what martial arts is all about.
Hey im sure it didnt happen in any of you guys' towns, but one day i woke up to a famous MMA Fighter (forgot at the moment) being bashed by my local news channel, about little kids (3=) beating the crap out of each other. The anchorman or whatnot said that its not true MA because it doenst handle the Philosophy or Teach it in its classes. The Fighter said that it is the Biggest Sport in america these days ,or something of that nature, and that its just like any other sport such as football, basketball, etc.
Too bad i dont know where to get a report or a vid of the whole thing, it would make for a Great discussion

It does have philosophy... Tap or your arm breaks.
Looks like another cheesy fight film to me (but then, a lot of proper fights aren't pretty to watch are they?)
Don't think I will spend my money on it, might watch it when it's out on tv but I'll stick to the real stuff for now!
You rarely ever get a fight film that's not cheesy...
Last fight scene:
Protagonist struggling against him <opponent/enemy> but remembers his objective, he must <Rescue his girl/ avenge his father/ save his elephant> and suddenly brings out a sudden burst of strength leading to victory, and they all lived happily ever after.
Save his elephant LOL! What a piece of crap that Tony Ja movie was. They should stop trying to give Tony Ja movies plots and just call them all Tony Ja does stuff or, Tony Ja jumps through things cause thats basically what they are.
Never Back Down is an ok flick. Not horrible not good kind of irritating at points like when the guy mispronounces Vale Tudo but, it's worth a watch.

Tony Jaa movies are good, they're well choreographed but yeah the plot is lame. But the only decent MA plot I've ever seen is Jet Li's Unleashed (Danny the Dog). That is one of the best movies of all time. Morgan Freeman is legend!
I absolutely refuse to watch this movie. I took my team to a tournament over the weekend and they were watching it in the van on a portable DVD player and I was yelling at them the whole time about how I will never watch that movie.
Never.
Watch.
It.

Okay, you guys got me interested so I got the movie yesterday, and Lady Fighter and I watched it last night. I'd give it two and a half stars out of five. It didn't stink, but it wasn't a classic in any sense of the word either. The fight scenes were well choreagraphed, but Draven was right. The grappling transitions were WAY over the top. Not even close to realistic in any way. The acting was mediocre at best. The plot was a mish-mash ripoff of Karate Kid, Fight Club, and various episodes of The OC. Not great, but worth watching on a rainy day when there is nothing else to do.

I'm watching it again right now, and I just realized that in the parking lot the "hero" gets slammed on concrete and fights on like nothing happened...

It's also fun to count how many times he gets hit in the ribs after that guy breaks them in the preliminary fight. Yet he just keeps on fighting.

Amazing how the movies give martial artist super powers like that, huh? Anyone who has ever had a busted rib either laughs or cries when they see scenes like that
