Looks interesting enough to rent. It does actually look more well-made than that last attempt at a MMA movie, Never Back Down.

This quote from (Movie Review for Redbelt) actually makes me want to see this movie. Maybe its based on real fighting not the jumping flying killer spin kick:
Quote from reviewer: "This is a movie rooted in the world of Mix Martial Arts, and though I’m sure the sport’s fanatics will disagree, MMA just isn’t very cinematic. You don’t need to be a boxing expert to thrill to the fancy punches of an expert boxer. You don’t need to know anything about karate to stand up and cheer when the good guy clocks the bad guy with a roundhouse. But MMA boils down to little more than two guys hugging, and there’s just nothing exciting for the average joe in watching shirtless dudes playing grabass and bleeding all over each other. It’s kind of a bore. "

Take a look at Flashpoint. Donnie Yen directed the action sequences, but I think you MMA guys will be pleased. I think you'll find a new respect for Donnie Yen. Just to let you know what kind of action is in the movie, the first scene has Doniie doing a double leg takedown on a guy then going into ground and pound.

Well in this case, too "Hong Kong" Is it real life fighting, of course not, its a movie. However, there are many fight scenes with choreographed movements taken directly from MMA groundfighting/submissions. I think everybody likes to see thier art in a movie when its aproached with respect. Beside all that, the action sequences are cool as hell
