I didn't answer as I think the question is a bit obscure. For example times a week you train says nothing about the length of time you train. Personally if I don't put my body into some kind of motion atleast once a day I start to feel a bit off, but that doesn't mean I am bringing myself to optimal heart rate.

I teach for about 4 hours a day 2 days a week and squeeze in whatever else I can the rest of the week.

I think anytime you put your uniform on and break a sweat should be considered as a workout.

See I might disagree about the uniform part of that.

You don't necessarily have to have the uniform on to train but it is a mind set. Actually, I prefer training in more comfortable clothes than the formal unifom. I wore the uniform in the class but when I was training on my own, I wore different clothes.

Granted I havent been doing this for long...

I get up around 4 in the morning and head to the gym to lift, stretch, and do abs. That normally leaves me about and 30 to 45 minutes to work on katas.

In the afternoons:
Mon: TKD
Tues: Ninjutsu and TKD
Wed: Ninjutsu and Mon Jin
Thur: TKD
Fri: Ninjutsu and Sensitivity.
Sat: TKD and then Ninjutsu, then a cardio Tai Jutsu class.

If I find that I am not getting enough rest I wont lift the next morning so I can sleep in but I'll hit it on Sunday.

When I get into better shape I want to do run sprints on campus after classes Mon- Thurs. Right now all I can manage after classes is to go home and ice my legs. Once they get used to this routine I can kick it up a notch.

2 times at the dojang for 1.5-2 hours each. I have lotsa equipment at home including rubber mats so I train by myself 2 hours everyday even on days I go to the dojang.

Smile

I train 2-3 times a week if possible, because I work and can be quite tired from it afterwards. :S

Usually training for me lasts about 1 hour and 20 minutes when it comes to martial arts. I practise at home when I wish to rememebr a pattern or move from class in order to do my grading properly.

I learn REALLY fast too.

As for any other training, I'm an ectomorph and attempting to gain weight. 5'9 at 130/129lbs but damn strong...

I spend 6 days a week (when I get back into it since it'll be summer and warmer out) training with weights.

Shame you guys cut off the poll. :P

Had to change it up...

My last workout, from my earlier post, was very inefficient as far as time consumption because I would have to wait two hours after work before any of my classes started. So my workouts look like this in order to compensate...

Mon, Wed, and Fri morning I stretch, work on kata's, strikes, and footwork from 5 am to 7 am. I sleep in Tues and Thurs.

In the afternoons:
Mon: lift weights/ chest-abs & TKD
Tues: lift weights/ back-abs & Ninjutsu & TKD
Wed: lift weights/ shoulders, bis and tris-abs & Ninjutsu & Monjin
Thurs: stretch/abs & TKD
Fri: lift weights/ chest or back & Ninjutsu & Sensitivity
Sat: TKD & Ninjutsu & Cardio Taijutsu & lift weights/ LEGS & katas ( if I can walk)
Sun: rest

This is a much better use of time. Its the only way I can get stronger and more skilled at the same time. Tip for anyone that crosstrains...EAT a lot!

By the way I work from 8 to 5.

This is an old thread.

I usually train 4 - 6 days a week (dojo),
depending on the type of training we're
doing.

Currently I have a broken nose, so I've
gone once this week (non-active on the sidelines)
and I'll go again tonight (slightly active on the sidelines).
does that count??

Seriously Kenpo I wasnt trying to be harsh. I thought you were implying it was bad forum edicate to backtrack to threads, so I was kind of defending why I didnt start a new thread. No worries

Currently twice a week, 3 hours in total.

This will go up to 3 times a week in June.

This will last until November time when my wife gives birth, then i expect i may be limited in training for a bit
