I know there's about 12, 000 conditioning threads but I was watching Human Weapon - Episode 3 Karate, and I saw an old guy pounding on a rock with chops and backhands and doesn't seem to be suffering from arthritis and he was about 70. Doesn't harsh conditioning give you arthritis or is pounding on rocks, not really harsh?
Although I believe that there is evidence to support that the body adapts to punishment and gets stronger, bones denser etc, but I would be careful not to go too far and cause permanent damage. As for artheritis, I am not sure if it causes that

In many cases it is how you go about conditioning. I have done knuckle conditioning and I do have arthritis in my hands due to the conditioning. Any conditioning you do should be gradual. Pounding on a rock isn't something you do first day. A lot of younger guys get gung ho and start doing things that hurt thier bodies instead of helping it. One specific thread comes to mind where a person was kicking trees with thier shins. All that does is injure your body unless you have gradually worked up to it...oh and they weren't the right kind of trees either

How do you know what he is suffering from from a brief TV episode?

I've been told by many people, especially on this forum that knuckle conditioning leads to arthritis.
Such hard conditioning, (as you should have researched the forum on many threads-discussions on this) had to be neccesary "back in the day".
Unless one is going fo some type of hardcore fighting career (wheras even those out there with rules and rings have hand protection), conditioning like such is not warranted and nonsensical.

Science has shown that to increase muscular strength and bone density the body needs very hard punishment i.e. pounding on rocks. Hence, "No pain No gain." Or you can take the easy way and take creatine your chose.

Science has also shown that there will detremental effects from such.

When training there is no such thing as to much pain. Only the weak experience to much pain.
Wrong. There is such a thing as too much pain. Pain is a signal/flag that a certain stress level has been achieved, and too much of this results in disaster.

I don't know what you are talking about everybody knows Pain is weakness leaving the body. Pain toughens you up makes you a better fighter, if you break a bone it will grow back stronger. Of course if you are weak and can't take pain just take creatine than.

Do you even know what creatin is? Taking too much creatin will cause heart, adrenal gland, muscular, tendon, joint, lymphnode, eye, and clear thinking issues, just to name a few. Creatin is something your kidneys clean out of your blood. It is a poison. Taking creatin is similiar to taking uremic acid...just plain silly.
