I'm sure most of us has seen or atleast heard of Human Weapon, a new show on the history channel. So I was wondering what martial arts you all think they should go and investigate.

Meh, I'll do my own research on an art if I really want to know about it. Human Weapon is great for non-martial artists but I think that it might be too basic for most with experience in cross training.

I agree. Plus the show tends to over-hype each study.

yeah, I think that they do show basic stuff.
I say that capoeria would be good, and maybe wing chun.
I also liked the Krav MAga, and the muay boron ones.
can anyone send me the Kung Fu one because i missed that one. my friend said it had a guy in orage pants do like 5 kicks in the air or something

Me and my boyfriend use to sit and watch this show every Friday! (what else am i gonna do, I have a little boy, so no parties for me lol)
I've said the same thing, it is very basic!! I will say this though, I did enjoy some of the "old style" training they show sometimes.. oh how I would love to train like that again *sigh*
But if nothing else I think the show is great for beginners in Martial Arts and I like watching some of the fights

Ooh, if anyone finds that kuungfu clip, give it to me too!
Apparently, human weapons episode about the marines was said to be that the marines martial arts takes from a bunch of different martial arts, but the show basically showed that the marines only used moves from chinese kungfu! says a student at the school i go to.
i found it quite funny, when he said that, cause he said they were gloating about how they kept gloating about taking the best of all martial arts, but then as the show progreesed, they showed chinese ma moves! like the reap, i believe its called, from mantis. XD GO MANTIS!
but yah, awesome show, i saw the one about eskrima and judo, twas good.
why must the show be sooo late though! my parents want me to go to bed at like 11, but then its at 1... bah
The episode on karate was my favorite. Although I agree with the consensus that the show seems tailored more for non-martial artists, the karate episode was one of the very few times in my life that I've seen video of the traditional way that I was trained in Japan. I think the true value of the show is the history that it teaches people with little or no real knowledge of the martial arts.

i think that they need to get different hosts. the mma guy is a little full of himself and the football player only seems to care when he thinks that it's actually a good move to use. there's no way that a white belt with very limited move being taught only the basics could take on a champ and even come close to thinking about beating him.
a couple of people in my class think that the karate episode was a little weak. i loved when the mma guy said that karate is an okinawan martial art not japanese. where does he think okinawa is?

However, try going to Okinawa and calling an Okinawan Japanese. It's like calling a Sicilian, an Italian. They may be parts of the same country, but they claim unique cultures.
