Yeah, it premiers this friday, my friends are going to record it on tevo, and I'm gonna go watch it. Hopefully it is better than Human Weapon. Human Weapon was fun at first, but it is a bit lame for people that already know martial arts. I hope Fight Quest will meet my standards. I am guessing Discovery Channel saw how many people were interested in History Channel's Human Weapon, and they wanted to make their own. First National Geographic made that "Science/Martial Arts" show, then History channel makes Human weapon, now Discovery gets in on it. I see that martial arts is becoming a field of interest

It is all lame up to now, as producers of such shows are not martial artists and have people on their shows who have biased thoughts on what such a program should do

True, one of the Hosts of Human weapon was a former football player and wrestler, and he thought his size made him a martial artist. He has gotten better as the show has progressed however. I just want to know the scheme of Fight Quest. National Geographics, was doing the Science of MA, History Channel is doing the history of the techniques and the practitioners. I am thinking that fight quest will be similar to Human Weapon, but hopefully done by martial artists that know what the heck they are talking about.

I've seen a trailer, seemed interesting. There was a segment on karate with some sparring and the hosts were knocked down quite hard, even with headkicks, so in this respect it likely won't be like Human Weapon.

The thing about human weapons that I don't like is their exaggerations. Example "this judo throw can generate up to 10,000 lbs. of force." Bull crap!

"This strike has been known to send the nose bone into the skull."

Their isn't even a nose bone! And if it was hit that hard, it would break! Not be driven into the brain. And the hosts are always saying how they are always so close to death because of how dangerous the moves are. They are on a show, the producers won't let them do anything that is really dangerous.

I watched the "rerun" today, as it the original aired this passed Friday Evening.

It is just like the others.

Basically you have two guys traveled to other countries to study and participate in other arts.

The strang thing about it is they dont train for long and "think" they are somewhat experts.

I just watched the episode 5, where they went to Indonesia to learn Pencak Silat.

It's pretty good. The next episode is in Japan learning Kyokushin Karate.

I want to see when they go visit Korea.

What art/arts are they exploring in Korea?
