Yeah, Mario Yamasaki is one of the two Yamasaki Brothers that own and operate the Yamasaki Academy. He was my original instructor for years when I fist started but doesn't teach very often in our Virginia schools these days. And yes, he is pretty much the most senior MMA Referee out there now that Big John retired.
Hey man, no I'm a total idiot and didn't pay attention when spelling it. There were a lot of early MMA matches that involved pure traditionalists from karate, kenpo and kung fu. They all got pretty much owned by the grapplers. Now a days you do have some guys that practice karate like Lyoto Machida but, they supplement with other arts as well. How's things across the pond?
